7 Reasons why Infrared Inspection should be performed

2. Electrical distribution equipment includes panelboards, switchboards, switchgear, transformers, ATS, UPS, generators, etc.
3. An infrared inspection of an electrical system or rotating equipment does not confirm or validate proper operation of electrical distribution equipment. Other tests and standards like IEEE, NETA, NICET, and Manufacturer specific tests assure reliable performance of specific equipment.
4. When performing quantitative infrared inspections, our infrared technician will assure that all temperature-measuring equipment meets the manufacturers' stated specifications for accuracy.
5. Infrared inspection is typically performed when environmental and physical conditions are favorable. Solar gain, wind, surface and atmospheric moisture and heat transfer can interfere or change the patterns of radiation and make the results inaccurate or unreliable.
6. After the flag or exception has been remedied or repaired, and when requested by the customer, we can reinspect each exception to confirm that the problem has been corrected.
7. Frequent monitoring with thermal imaging allows accurate evaluation of the situation so take correction action can be taken to manage the problem before equipment failure.
